Oliphant

I buy books of my favorite cartoonists on occasion and I found this one years ago of Pat Oliphant’s work.

He was my favorite political cartoonist and last night was the first time I paged through this book. It covers the time just after Nixon’s departure to the election of Jimmy Carter. Oliphant really didn’t like Jimmy. This is the time I was a new teacher a new husband and out of touch with the Republican Party in Republican starved Duluth Minnesota.

I’ve sent my Flickr account and my email a number of things to give me an easy excuse for a blog post. I’m in the middle of a major plan for the start of a book to kick start my congressional campaign. Too much time on blog posts will be difficult nevermind my desire to keep up with them as well as every other writing project. I woke up after a middling night’s sleep with a dozen emails I sent to myself at night mostly for that book.

I’m only now getting to them at a little after 2 PM because I spent the morning with my homebound friend playing chess. Third time this morning. One game. I resigned in ignominious defeat…….
