Here’s a school district that has improved the achievement of minorities by mixing affluent and poorer students. We’ve stopped doing that. Its not quite that simple. Poorer children were placed in more affluent schools rather than having more affluent students volunteer to attend more minority laden schools. Whatever you call it Duluth’s new Grant/Nettleton combo does just the opposite.
