Later became later and later, email

An email I neglected for three weeks:

Hello again,

I was waiting for an answer in your last column to the questions posed.
Such an exorbitant waste of materials and money to demolish Central.

A town that wants to ban plastic grocery bags is silent about this?
Where are the environmental progressives?

School District has been given a pass on waaaay too many poor decisions.

But it is a good thing that Gronseth is gone.
Wonder if Judy and Ann W ever have regrets?

LDV did its best.

and my tardy reply:

Hi XX.

I was visiting my son in Ann Arbor when I noticed your message. I was planning to reply later and later got later and later. My apologies.

The Red Plan is hardly gone but I only am inclined to nibble at its edges in the next couple of Readers so I won’t write a Martellesque condemnation. New readers are too late to the show to understand and old timers have had plenty of time to digest anything I have had to say on the subject.

I was planning to write something comprehensive about what I have always been interested in – Education. But, I am discovering that my approach will be far too idiosyncratic to be anything l like comprehensive. It will barely be chronological. Much of it is stuff I’ve wanted to write while the world has been burning down.

Keep your mask handy. It should help with both the Delta variant and the soot from Quetico.
