Data Entry is not my thing

I spent about seven hours entering new contributions into the State’s Finance Software yesterday. I had mis-inputted about a dozen contributions and it took me a couple hours today to figure out how to undo and fix them. Then I had to stifle a heart attack when I found I was several hundred dollars short of the $3,000 needed to qualify for state matching funds for DFL legislators who win their primaries.

I had to madly search through my paperwork and see which donations I had failed to enter. There were quite a few. I managed to raise $3,202.00 not counting my loan and another $500.00 that could not be counted because it was over the $50 limit per contributor. Half of this was raised on Sunday and Monday. To my all my benefactors I say thank you very much!

I know I whined a few days ago that if I had to go out and raise more than I received in mailed in contributions I might just roll over. Of course, I couldn’t do that and retain any shred of self worth. I asked folks to contribute to a candidate intent on winning. To have given up would have been a betrayal. It was a smaller version of my having no choice but to press my fight for a referendum three years ago when the School Board rolled their eyes at the voters.

I’ve got another $10.00 that came in on time to deposit and that leaves me with about $3,000.00. Its not a lot but I sure don’t have to use any of it for name recognition. I hope it will be enough.
