Representative Mike Jaros wrote an excellent point of view column in today’s DNT. It was a great unintended rebuttal to Judy Seliga Punyko’s piece yesterday
Once again after getting into one story the Trib’s software is keeping me out of other stories. I’d love to copy a couple of paragraphs but since I can’t I’d ask readers to pay close attention to Mike’s comments beginning with the regressive nature of the property tax – the poor pay proportionately more.
He explains the special rights Duluth enjoys with St. Paul and Minneapolis but points out that while the most these other city’s have ever bonded without a vote was $40 million Duluth is bonding over tent times that much despite having one tenth as many school children.
Its hard to believe I once opposed Mike and supported Judy.
