My heart beats slower these days

I should have known things would get better on the Fourth of July. After two beautiful days my wife, daughter and I decided to watch the City’s fireworks from our daughter’s back porch. We all climbed up the pitched roof until we cleared the tree line. A fantastical panorama of Superior and Duluth spread out before us. We watched both City’s fireworks simultaneously while smaller star bursts exploded all along our horizon.

Tonight LDV met and I’ve never been at a more productive meeting. Our finances are better than when we started the mad rush to raise the bond. We’ve got another spaghetti dinner fundraiser planned and this time we are actually showing some signs of organization. More excellent prospects for a school board campaign have emerged. And while we wrung our hands a bit about the District’s successful spin by misrepresentations our Plan B I know it won’t last. Its got two months of summer to evaporate.

Its based on so much flimflam that the whole town will catch on soon enough….check that….. everybody but the Duluth News Tribune will catch on soon enough.

The Red Plan’s giddy supporters will get a rude awakening when they discover how short lived the spin will be. It will be the big Red Fizzle.
