A dissent

Paul Goosens takes pretty regular umbrage to my “personal attacks” on others. Today in an online comment section in the Trib he complained that this blog would not take comments. He’s quite right. I sort of wondered why no one had made comments in the last year. I just tried it myself and discovered I could only do it because I know the secret passwords. Sorry, I’m keeping that to myself. There are those who would kill my blog as dead as the Move Forward Duluth blog. I can’t have that. It wasn’t always this way. I tinkered with the controls in 2007 when the comment sections began filling up with scads of spam messages. Damn spam.

SInce you do not allow any comment or feedback on your web blog… I am forced to respond to your characterizations of the Chamber meeting here. I find it interesting that when somebody (i.e.: Me) calls attention to your own words as I did yesterday, you characterize that as an “attack”. Yet, when you make clearly libelous statements about others, write that elected officials are due the same violent deaths as rabid dogs and dictators, or repeat assertions made by your followers that a certain board member should “get her head bashed against a wall”, well, thats just ol’ “rascally Welty” or your own version of being “irreverent.”

To assist your memory (its interesting the minutia you often claim to recall with impressive clarity, and that which escapes you when it does not suit your self egrandizing positions) my question posed to the professionals from the State and UMD who presented their research findings was how do they respond to critics such as yourself who have indeed attacked their professional integrity (“biased” “untrustworthy”, incestous”) as well as their comptence (i.e. use of similay faulty economic modelling that is responsible for the currect economic situation– I did not recall an economic degree on your resume). I felt it imperative for the presenters to deflect your personal attacks on their integrity and competence outright, Harry. You see, most of Duluth has now come to understand your mode of operations. If you disagree with a person’s position, it is easier to personally attack the person’s character, integrity, competence, morality, motivation, or even right to exist.

Your subsequent characterization of your writings as mere “skepticism” when it was fully a character and professional attack, is truly “rascally”, Harry. Of course the particular rascal that comes to mind is a slithering weasel! If you are going to attack people on you blogs, at lease thave the nerves, decency, character, to speak that same way in person, to their faces.
