I had a conversation with Art Johnston that once again piqued my interest about the massive Red Plan debts which are sucking money out of our classrooms and raised my hopes we could do something about them.
After we met with our bond advisors a couple months ago they shut the door in our face about refinancing the way we wanted. It couldn’t be done.
That analysis seemed to come as a surprise to the finance people at the Minnesota Department of Education.
Some Board members might start asking more annoying questions even if that means a late meeting or two. The prospect of lowering class sizes is pretty irresistable………to some of us.
