“Community member Steve Yewell disagreed, speaking against the contract renewal and labeling the board’s decision a harbinger of ‘tension and resentment for three more years.’ He contended that falling enrollment in Faribault Public Schools – a fact cited by the board as contributing to recent budget shortfalls – were no ‘accident or statistical fluke.’ He said they reflected a rising tide of parents choosing private education for their children.”
