After today’s front page headlines some email is being sent to the Duluth School Board. Here’s one sample:
Hello school board members,
I urge you to not accept (nor sell) the Central High School land to Edison or any entity related to Edison.
In fact, do not sell the land. The former Central High School site is some of the best land in the city (for the view, location, etc). Why not hold onto the property and lease it to something that is not competition. Hold the land and have payments made to ISD-709 so that we are using it as a money maker. Do not just sell it off!
I understand there is pressure to sell it but resist this and hold onto the land until a non-school entity makes an offer or ISD-709 can figure out how to hold it as a money maker.
If you would like to let all seven members of the school board know what you think about this subject email us at schoolboard@isd709.org.
Sorry, you will have to copy this non working link and put it in your email to send the Board your thoughts.
Here is my reply to the author of this email. To the numerous others taking the opposite view I simply reply: “Thank You.”
