Contributions to Let Duluth Vote are often poignant. Yesterday one came in with two single dollar bills. I can’t help but think the contributor may have sacrificed a bottle of milk to help us. Today I opened up a letter with three dollar bills and one with a check for five dollars.
This is why Rep Mike Jaros was heartsick about the Red Plan. This is all being paid for with the most regressive taxes of all – property taxes. It hits retirees especially hard like the retired teacher who called out of the blue to say she wanted to send me a check for all I’m doing. It would be a small one she told me. I thanked her and told her to make it out to let Duluth Vote. She then told me that the husband of Mimi Larson (my opposite in Move Forward Duluth) is a contractor. Who knew?
