One year ago today

My Mother, Georganne Robb Welty, died one year ago today. Well, I was ten minutes late posting this. She died on the Fifth of December.

The night of her death I felt compelled to crank out about 2,000 hastily drafted words about that day which ended up being very special to me. For the last year I have meant to go back and polish up that work. Today I finally managed it. She was very much on my mind that month as Christmas neared. I featured her Christmas ornaments for most of my December posts. I put her ornaments up again a couple days ago in our sun room. More than anyone else she gets the credit, or blame, for my snow sculptures. She always wanted me to be an artist.
