…and not from Russia. (I’ve been getting strange hits from a few other countries that may be little more than an attempt to saddle my blog with bugs.)
I’m not sure that’s a record number of visits to my blog but it’s close considering they are all likely Duluth area residents. I checked those pesky visitor reports from Russia and the Ukraine and they were still at 5000 and 3000 for the month which didn’t move the dial any. On the other hand my visits from US guests jumped from 12,000 to 15,000 almost overnight.
Maybe it was the curt and dramatic title of the last post, “Scandal” that lured them in. There is no scandal, of course. But that begs the question of why anyone would want to impugn my reputation. Certainly I have made my thoughts pretty clear. I think the Red Plan was damn near immoral and its consequences just short of catastrophic. I have little use for the powers that brought it into existance. I blame the leadership of the Teacher’s Union as well. On the other hand, JCI might be afraid that I’d try to collect reparations from them like Mayor Ness did for their botching the Duluth Steam Plant. Sidetracking me could be a lot cheaper for them.
I can see why my getting reelected to the Duluth School Board would be unwelcome to some of the people affiliated with the Red Planning. And yet why, if my positions are so objectionable, have so few attacked the message rather than the messenger?
As far as I’m concerned trying to smear my name is a little like shooting at the Doctor who wants to treat your infected leg. Shoot me and the leg may have to come off. Want it healed? Let the Doctor do his work. Sue me for malpractice later if I can’t cure the infection. But please, don’t tell people I want to kill your children or that I worship Satan or that I consort with people of low character even if its true that I do hang around with School Board members.
I ratcheted up my rhetoric a bit with today’s piece in the Duluth News Tribune. I said “gangrene” was spreading from West Duluth to East Duluth. Please read it. I’m proud of it.
