Mainlining the News

It had been a week since I had last heard an English language news broadcast or read the news. When I cast around the Billund, Denmark Airport to spend my last 27 Danish Kroners I found a Financial Times. I devoured it over the next couple hours.

I heard about the Pope’s artless speech which hard core militants would have been delighted to march and protest over and the good Republican Senators who are challenging Bush on his love for waterboarding.

There were a raft of great articles about the murder of the leading Russian banker and the building boom in New York and a detailed two page story about the background of the next man likely to be Japan’s Prime Minister. The world arround me is reawakening. Unfortunately I’m about to crash. I’m back in Duluth but in Danish time its 3:30 AM. I’ll post some Danish pictures tomorrow.
