What to expect at tomorrow’s court hearing

I have no idea what will happen tomorrow in Courtroom 1 of the Gerald Heaney Federal Court House other than the waste of another $20,000 on attorneys. There are a couple possibilities in no particular order:

Art’s complaint that his first amendment rights have been abused wins and the case is killed.

Or the District decides to appeal the loss in the Federal Courts

Or Art loses his complaint and he appeals the loss in the Federal Courts.

Or Art loses his complaint and then the case proceeds to state court for a more prosaic decision about the soap opera that is the Duluth School Board. This would be taken up at a hearing on Monday, May 11th which is scheduled to last up to five days. At this hearing the whole cast of characters and witnesses that Mary Rice interviewed over five months can be expected to be called and their testimony will become public rather than being hidden behind the heavy ink redactions of the District’s Human Resources Office. Expect subpoenas galore! I’ll no doubt get one.

As I have written several times previously…..to hell with the District’s school children. What a great school board we have!
