My bad blog

The attorneys for JCI and the School District have sent the five taxpayers about 20 pages of demands for documents. This primarily affects me because I’ve been an indefatigable writer on the LDV website and this blog for close to two years on everything related to the Red Plan. Of course its all on the web so they could download it themselves without my having to do so but its a little tit for tat because we’ve have had the temerity to ask for public documents they want to keep out of sight.

They also want my emails to everybody under the sun mostly so they can track down and harass any District employee that might have passed on some public data or unpleasant rumors. Good luck getting that from me. Besides, I’ve bent over backwards not to talk to District employees. Most of them are incredibly timid. When I do run across and old friend who is still with the District I usually joke, “Don’t let anybody see you talking to me.” They always laugh. They know exactly what I mean. Then they hurry away as though they were living in Iran.

I can’t claim that there is anything special about my blog other than you won’t read some of its most serious charges in the Duluth News Tribune. (And where the hell is the story about the flood of kids leaving ISD 709? The Trib has bashed the parochial schools and Edison but about all they can do with the Red Plan is cheer lead. Oh, how they crowed about the multiplier effect. Forum Communication’s corporate management seems to be calling the shots. Forum and JCI – birds of a feather!)

I’m not the only one to notice. I picked up the latest Reader Weekly which had a short letter commending them for being the only news gathering institution in Duluth interested in local news. The author claimed to be a former National Editor for the Chicago Tribune. Whether she was or not I take her point.

For those who consider blogging to be a journalistic disaster consider this:
