Its too bad I don’t have three secretaries on the federal payroll like Oberstar did when he first ran for Congress<\/a> because my office is starting to look like a kid’s room. There are no dirty clothes on the floor but there are lots of old newspapers and mail that I haven’t quite finished. I also have a tripod and my ungainly “teleprompter” which has been knocked over a couple of time by our new kittens who play with the string dangling from it.<\/p>\n

Yesterday I worked on a script for a TV ad. Mel quibbled with me after I sent it his way for proofing and his input. He’s been my editor and finds\u00c2\u00a0a disturbing number of typos and misspelled words. When he sent it back he mentioned that he had recently paid a call on some of Oberstar’s campaign staff one of whom told him that I wasn’t helping\u00c2\u00a0 Oberstar’s\u00c2\u00a0campaign. I love understatement.<\/p>\n

I also filled out three questionnaires for various newspaper voter’s guides. I have to offer my apologies to Mel for not sending my replies to him first (because sometimes the only way he can find out what I’m up to is by reading the blog). Sorry Mel, but I was on a tight deadline and had to get them cranked out.<\/p>\n

The typos\u00c2\u00a0may cost me votes but\u00c2\u00a0Mel doesn’t have to worry. when I threaten to fire\u00c2\u00a0him for failing to keep me informed like Denny Hastert’s staff because Mel won’t be losing his salary.
