I’ve never stopped thinking about the hows and whys of Education since I graduated from High School. I remember how looking back I was sure that where I had had the deepest learning came not from the classroom but from the activities I participated in, Debate, Speech, Theater, Choir. I think I gave short shrift to socialization but today I think back often on the events that imprinted some of my strongest beliefs and that taught me by the examples of others I rubbed shoulders with.<\/p>\n

Today I have a lot of education related posting to do starting with the previous too about “my reading list.” <\/p>\n

I have two others to go after this one about games. If I write them today one will be about my experience last night with Artificial Intelligence which I think our schools need to spend a lot of time acquainting our children with. The other of less immediacy will be about the decisions I have come to about my campaign finance this year – I don’t want donations for my school board campaign<\/strong> and my future shaking my fist at the spineless Republicans who handed the Party of Lincoln to a master of malice. The New York Times has a lovey story about something I thoroughly agree with. Children learn faster, deeper, and are more engaged with games that tickle their brains. My Dad was a great believer in this and used a game to teach the Business Law class he wouldn’t let my Mother take but allowed me to take a decade later after he’d mellowed a bit. We played games as a family and my daughter has made Wednesday night game night for ages. Here’s a story about a lesson I learned well from my Dad. Collective Bargaining<\/a><\/p>\n
