My principle short term goal is to get a Substack started. It would sort of be a rival to this old blog of mine whose visiter stats I haven’t checked since my computer crashed over the summer. I’d have to spend ten minutes finding the link but can’t imagine it shows many visitors so why bother to look? Substack does that automatically and I’m up to 9 visits…..This is where in Facebook I would put an eyeroll emoji. Since then I let my Facebook page, pages, get hacked and have lost that as a place to waste my time.

Last night I slept well although I woke at 3AM and needed to chase thoughts out of my head. I did the NY Times Wordle and read the news. One fellow I’ve followed intermittently, who left China a decade ago rather than become a prisoner of conscience, Ai Wei Wei was profiled in the Times. In the story he says he doesn’t consider himself an artist. I wonder if Banksy, who like Ai Wei Wei focuses his art on the evils of the world, would agree. I went to sleep and dreamt about Wei Wei in a vivid dream. On waking Wei Wei, Banksy filled my head while I made coffee. I do not consider myself an artist either but like them I put my talents to work making statements in snow about the world we live in.

Inside the Former ‘Underworld’ Where Ai Weiwei Makes Art https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/10/t-magazine/ai-weiwei-retrospective-seattle-art-museum.html?smid=nytcore-android-share

Last post Next post My reach exceeds my grasp.
