Today’s Trib opinion piece<\/a> notes that the District has managed to take statistics and bend them so as to justify what they wanted to do anyway.<\/p>\n

The book read by the writer in her college days has a title that was borrowed from Mark Twain’s famous quote:<\/p>\n

“There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Twain had another quote which I referred to ad nauseum when I was a school board member. Its still apropos:<\/p>\n
