The Duluth teachers union filed a lawsuit yesterday seeking to stop school administrators from taking action against teachers who distributed endorsement fliers in schools the day before the primary election. Administrators say teachers violated the board’s policy on political activities on school premises.<\/p>\n

A plan to build a golf course at Spirit Mountain found little support at a public meeting yesterday. Most people who addressed the Spirit Mountain Board said they either totally opposed the idea or were concerned that promises by developers wouldn’t be kept.<\/p>\n

My friend asked if this is when the unions started taking control? <\/p>\n

I didn’t answer that question but mentioned that a short time later DFT Prez Frank Wanner told me “Welty you will be a target in the next election.” <\/p>\n

I was. I won. <\/p>\n

Things don’t always change. Recently our Superintendent had to send out an email to staff reminding them to campaign on their own time not on their work time.
