The Minneapolis school population is shrinking so its time for them to deal with &#8220;excess buildings&#8221; and to<a href=\"http:\/\/www.startribune.com\/local\/42563332.html?elr=KArksLckD8EQDUoaEyqyP4O:DW3ckUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aUUsA\"> downsize<\/a>.  If they followed the Duluth model with a student body of 32,000, three times more than Duluth, they would OK a $1.2 billion dollar building plan &#8211; <em><strong>without a vote!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A Minneapolis administrator who obviously hasn&#8217;t talked to Duluth&#8217;s Dr. Dixon about Duluth&#8217;s plans to <a href=\"http:\/\/lincolndemocrat.com\/?p=1797\">bus the living Heck<\/a> out of Duluth&#8217;s students next year makes this nonsensical statement:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We know disruption interferes with learning,&#8221; Stever-Zeitlin said. &#8220;We&#8217;re the last people who want to make changes for change&#8217;s sake.&#8221; But &#8220;we can&#8217;t get to a place where we can focus on the achievement gap unless we get rid of some of the excess buildings.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Uh Oh!
