{"id":18797,"date":"2016-12-30T12:33:04","date_gmt":"2016-12-30T17:33:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lincolndemocrat.com\/?p=18797"},"modified":"2016-12-30T12:52:40","modified_gmt":"2016-12-30T17:52:40","slug":"perfect-duluth-day-december-30-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lincolndemocrat.com\/?p=18797","title":{"rendered":"Perfect Duluth Day &#8211; December 30, 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfectduluthday.com\/2016\/12\/30\/selective-focus-harry-welty\/\">https:\/\/www.perfectduluthday.com\/2016\/12\/30\/selective-focus-harry-welty\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/2b9sqw2iiqxr36ntqa1exnal-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/31941537015_5b87e57df1_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I was asked by Brian Barber of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfectduluthday.com\/\"><strong>Perfect Duluth Day<\/strong><\/a>  to pass on some information about my snow &#8220;art.&#8221; Anyone who has ever visited one of the websites for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harbinice.com\/?gclid=CjwKEAiAqJjDBRCG5KK6hq_juDwSJABRm03hJzKpOWFPck_TQfA2ZWHV7pWCbVzBdYp72CC4z3IT3RoCkN7w_wcB\">Harbin Winter Ice Festival<\/a> or the many snow sculpting contests sites will immediately recognize that what I do and what professional snow and ice sculptors do are world&#8217;s apart. Still, I&#8217;ve had my moments. <\/p>\n<p>Because Brian asked me for pictures of 800 to 1000 pixels I decided to overhaul nearly thirty years worth of chaotic scraps from my sculpting career which goes back to 1987. I started putting postage stamp sized photos of my early sculptures on my webpage when it took hours to upload or download ordinary pictures. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/snowbizz.com\/images\/SnowSculptures\/Dino'sF87.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;thumbnails&#8221; were too small for Mr. Barber&#8217;s needs. <\/p>\n<p>I spread all my old scrapheaps out and rediscovered the many joys of my modest success and their quirky results.
