Here&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/2016\/10\/12\/497637765\/black-officer-navigates-2-incompatible-worlds-on-n-h-police-force\">Today&#8217;s story<\/a> about a black police woman in Nashua New Hampshire. She thinks of her two year old black son getting shot by a cop while her white step daughter asks how she can to out to work after Dallas when she could be shot by a fellow black for being a police officer.<\/p>\n<p>Then there was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/2016\/09\/29\/495882696\/working-then-now-police-officer\">this interview <\/a>in the 1970&#8217;s by Chicago&#8217;s Studs Turkel of one of Chicago&#8217;s few black policemen and what he dealt with in a hostile white police force. I am not sure it in this segment but afterward he was interviewed in 2016 and described finding human feces in his police locker.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These two recent NPR stories on the experiences of black police are worth noting.
