{"id":1718,"date":"2009-02-08T23:54:12","date_gmt":"2009-02-09T04:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lincolndemocrat.com\/?p=1718"},"modified":"2017-03-02T22:28:08","modified_gmt":"2017-03-03T03:28:08","slug":"i-need-a-better-sling-shot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lincolndemocrat.com\/?p=1718","title":{"rendered":"I need a better sling shot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There were three anti Red Plan letters to the editor over the weekend. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.duluthnewstribune.com\/event\/article\/id\/111579\/group\/Opinion\/\">Hank Kauffman<\/a> said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Can somebody explain to me how, if the district is $4.5 million in debt and receives $8.3 million the debt is only cut in half?&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.duluthnewstribune.com\/event\/article\/id\/111665\/\">Geraldine Warner <\/a>said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>As far as I know, the sale wasn&#8217;t even included in the red plan. Where is the money coming from? Also, a neighboring building at the corner is for sale. Will the district buy that, too? How about the nearby Dairy Queen? Is any piece of property safe?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And I especially like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.duluthnewstribune.com\/event\/article\/id\/111667\/\">Karen Young&#8217;s <\/a>stirring conclusion:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I am against the red plan because it is a waste of money and imprudent, considering Duluth&#8217;s dropping enrollments and a lack of business and jobs to draw new people to fill these white elephants and pay for them. I am against the red plan because the oligarchical School Board is shoving it down the throats of the citizenry because they want to and they apparently can and because only a few Davids are trying to stop them.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There were three anti Red Plan letters to the editor over the weekend.
