It began thusly:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Dangerous to take elections out of making big decisions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On a recent trip north, I read a letter in the News Tribune by a writer who noted that surveys seem to be taking the place of elections in Duluth. As a resident of Faribault, I empathize with the voters of the Duluth school district.
