Daytrip to Sweden

I’ve been emailing back and forth between Mel and Chris between sleeping a sight seeing. This morning we were working out details of a little radio campaign we are arranging before the primary while the radio ad rates are at their legally prescribed lows.

Rod Grams station in Little Falls charges through the roof so we’ve been puzzling over this. Does it have that many listeners? Are the rates high to discourage all other Pols from advertising? Were they ignoring the law? The latter seems unlikely but none of us are experts in radio advertising law so it’s required some interesting research.

Claudia and I headed over in a drizzle to our day trip. I hadn’t even really read what it was about when we signed up. I thought we were just going to drive over and back but it turned out to be a half-day tour. We drove up the “Danish Rivera” where well-heeled Danes build their homes until we reached Shakespeare’s Elsinore Castle, the theatrical setting for Hamlet’s famous dithering.

We took a ferry to Sweden and toured the medieval cathedral and now college town of Lund then went on to Malmö, the third largest city in Sweden. As we crossed the several-year-old bridge between Sweden and Denmark the sun began making its appearance. I’ll post a picture or two when I can find a replacement lithium battery to get my camera going again.
