Am I getting a little testy?

One of my biggest boosters wants me to remove the previous post. I can think of a couple of objections to it but I presume its because I’ve been suggesting that getting our surety bond t has been a challenge. Surprise! Surprise! Why else would the Defense Attorney’s have demanded this. Its been a marvelous tactic. Its kept me so damn busy that I’ve been tied up in knots for a week barely able to accomplish all the other high priority tasks that I’m carrying on my shoulders.

As anyone who reads this blog knows I let a lot, if not everything, hang out. The more the School District sweeps stuff under the rug the harder I tug on the rug to reveal it. As they say, “What’s sauce for the goose, is sauce for the gander.” In other words, if I want the District to be transparent I have an obligation to be so myself even if my friends and allies are uncomfortable with it.

I’m not an exhibitionist, however. As Mark Twain wrote: “Every man is a moon, and has a dark side, which he never shows to anybody.” Let me tell you about my dark side. When I was a college kid who had a dreamy, idealistic notion that I’d like to be President of the United States America began hearing about all of Jack Kennedy’s infidelities. It occurred to me then that if I didn’t want my family to find about my dark side I’d want to keep it as small as possible. In the forty years since there’s not much that I’ve done that I feel much embarrassment about. That goes for the things I say in public and private. When I send out an email I always presume that everything I say is as good as having been printed in the daily paper. That’s a little like a young woman taking her Daddy along in the backseat on a date.

Nonetheless, when the attorneys for the District, which has to this date refused to make an iota of information about its public data available, send me a directive to strip of my clothes for a body cavity search I get a little annoyed. They demand to see every email I’ve written to damn near everybody concerning the Red Plan since 2007.

So, over the past week while I’ve been breaking my back to 1. get the Bond stuff straightened out, 2. recruit candidates for the School Board, 3. contact City Planning commissioners to point out how crappy the Ordean site is all the while 4. trying to maintain a faint semblance of a family life I haven’t really appreciated the immense challenge of 5. exposing two year’s worth of email to the cold blooded attorneys for the Defense……..BUT EXPOSE MYSELF I HAVE! I ain’t holding anything back.

I’ve been so busy for the past two years fighting the Red Plan that I’ve never found the time to routinely purge my email. As a result the only limitation on what I can offer the lawyers comes from the computer catastrophe I had 15 months ago when every email in my hard drive went up into email heaven without so much as a fair-the-well. That, however, still left over 5000 emails.

I spent hours last week trying to figure out how to print out the list of all 9,000 (both incoming and outgoing) emails showing the A. from whom, B subject line, and date sent/received so that I could demonstrate that I was willing to show the attorneys any email they deemed of interest. I even investigated the possibility of finding a high power printer that could print out all 9,000 emails to hand over. That met with some objections by my allies who did not like the innocent email they’ve been sending me to fall into the hands of the District and JCI. So, I also had to 6. tell my friends I had no choice and to beg their forgiveness for my erroneous promise to shield them from the bullies that have been oppressing us.

So, I spent a couple days going through all 9,000 emails looking for anything I could honestly exclude as being of no interest to JCI and ISD 709.

Then I had to figure out how to put all the email that might be of some interest, totaling about 1,000 pieces including every email I’ve received or sent to Gary Glass on a computer disk to hand over to the District and its witch hunters. Thank God I’ve got a bright son who used to be a computer tech and who thinks the idea of learning is much more about ideas than about building Taj Mahals who could take four hours off to get all this crap on a disk for me. Thank you Robb. (I was only kidding when I told you that: “When you see me you see your future.” Goodness knows there’s not a hint of Don Quixote about you.)

If they want more they’ve got almost every email I’ve ever sent or received in their clutches and they can just send me an order and I’ll put another day or two into making more emails available to them. Since I don’t have the time to read 1,000 old emails to check their content (I didn’t have time to read most of them when I got them without skimming them) I’d be surprised if they could get through what I’ve already handed over any time soon. But I suppose I should never underestimate any law firms willingness to pad their bills by having some poor drudge sift through useless garbage. Hell, its only the taxpayer’s money.

So, do you think I’m getting a little testy?

Now here’s the next question.

Would you be as patient as I have been?
