And Florida in Statuary Hall

Then there was Frank Ceribino’s column in today’s PB Post. Cerebino published four noteworthy and ironic columns during my brief stay. He’s leftish and Claudia says her father doesn’t really much approve of him. He is a smart Alec but I would emphasize the smart in that condemnatory description.

Every state in the Union has two noteworthies in Statuary Hall in our Nation’s Capitol building. Minnesota’s are Governor Henry Rice and Maria Sanford. I just checked. I thought they were Lucky Lindy and Hubert Humphrey. Ours are not the only figures who have been eclipsed in the history books. Frank says there is talk of changing one of Florida’s two statues with a more memorable figure.

Cerebino mentioned some big names as possibilities like Thomas Alva Edison then dismissed them with his own suggestion. Having visited Florida twice this year I was particularly pleased with Cerebino’s recommendation. So should everyone else reading this who has ever paid a call on the Sunshine State. We would all find ourselves in Statuary Hall if Frank had his way.
