What I read and watch

I’m not sure why my Buddy sent me to this page on Nora Robert’s recreational reading. She’s an author whose pseudonym I’ve run across many times when I’ve googled my grandfather George Robb. Her pseudo is J.D. Robb.

I read it and its as good an occasion to post one of my book posts. I’m currently reading a curious novel called Lovers at the Chameleon Club, Paris 1932. BTW I haven’t read this NYTimes book review. Hitler hasn’t taken over France yet but, as in the movie Cabaret placed in Germany of the same era, his shadows are already casting themselves against events.

Its been a while since I read a book to Claudia but we have two others waiting in the wings. These two are histories rather than historical novels. The first is about the Spanish Civil War and the second is Wild Swans Three Daughters of China.

These three should keep us for most of the year although I’ll have my own history books to peruse while Claudia is stuck behind a mountain of books for her various theology classes.

We keep escaping when we can either to books or movies or good television. We have several television series to livestream the first of them being House of Cards and we take in movies. I wrote a blog post on Selma and The Imitation Game a few weeks ago but I wasn’t satisfied with it so I never uploaded it.

I just wanted to reassure my readers, once again, that in addition to my family I have other things to take my mind off the Duluth School Board.
